14th ESPEN Symposium

Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Welcome to the 14th ESPEN Symposium Nourishing the Mind–Gut Connection

An ESPEN Symposium organised in collaboration with BAPEN

Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to Edinburgh for the 14th ESPEN Symposium – Nourishing the Mind–Gut Connection.

Over two days, we will explore the nutritional challenges associated with behavioural eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, as well as atypical eating disorders such as avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) and disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI).

Through expert lectures and interactive case-based discussions, we will examine the ethical, nutritional, and pharmacological aspects of patient management, underpinned by current international evidence and clinical guidance.

The symposium is designed to promote multidisciplinary collaboration and facilitate the exchange of current evidence, clinical expertise, and best practice in the management of these complex and challenging conditions.

We are honoured to be joined by an outstanding international, multidisciplinary faculty of clinicians, researchers, and thought leaders. Their expertise and insights will enrich discussion and help advance our understanding of the key challenges faced by healthcare professionals caring for patients with eating disorders and related conditions.

We hope you find the symposium informative, inspiring, and engaging, with valuable opportunities for networking, shared learning, and professional development. Most importantly, we hope you leave with practical knowledge and insights that will enhance both your clinical practice and the care of patients.
